It’s interesting to note the timing of Kim Kardashian losing 100,000 Instagram followers coinciding with the release of Taylor Swift’s song Thank You Almee, which many fans speculate references their longstanding feud.
Taylor Swift, the 34-year-old pop star, released her 11th studio album, “The Tortured Poets Department,” at midnight on Friday, April 19th. Shortly afterward, she surprised fans with a “2 am version” of the album, which added 15 more songs to the record.

Following the album’s release, Kim Kardashian’s follower count began to decline rapidly. Fans speculated that Swift’s track “thanK you aIMee” contained several “clues” suggesting it was about the 43-year-old reality star.
The primary indication that the album’s 24th track might be referencing Kardashian is the capitalization of the letters K, I, and M, which spell out her first name, among other hints.
Despite neither Kardashian nor Swift addressing fan theories about “thanK you aIMee,” the reality star’s Instagram following dropped from 364.3 million followers to 363 million over the weekend following the release of “The Tortured Poets Department.”
The lyrics of “thanK you aIMee” describe how Swift’s life was profoundly influenced by how “Aimee” treated her. In simpler terms, Swift reflects on how despite the challenges and hurt caused by Aimee’s behavior (“throwin’ punches”), she was able to rise above it and grow (“buildin’ somethin'”). The lyrics express both anger and gratitude, highlighting the complexity of their relationship.
Swift’s fans have flooded Kardashian’s Instagram posts with references to the song, leaving comments like “Thank you Aimee!!!!” and quoting lyrics such as “All the time u were throwing punches…” in her comment section. They’re drawing connections between the song’s lyrics and the speculated feud between Swift and Kardashian, making their presence known on Kardashian’s social media platform.
Kardashian and Swift’s long-standing feud traces back to the 2009 MTV Video Music Awards, where the conflict ignited. During Swift’s acceptance speech for Best Female Video, rapper Kanye West, who was Kardashian’s boyfriend at the time, infamously interrupted her. He believed Beyoncé deserved the award for “Single Ladies,” sparking the beginning of their feud.
After the rapper and reality star’s marriage in 2014, Kardashian stood by West’s side as Swift presented him with the Vanguard Award at the VMAs. While it seemed that any animosity had been put to rest, Swift later revealed in an interview that she and West hadn’t spoken backstage, indicating that tensions persisted despite the public appearance.
